labeling
All BDP-packaging can be identified
by a loud modular marking system based on a hexagon and a seedling.
The hexagon can be positioned on the packaging single, in a row
or as a honey-comb to make it easier for consumers to recognize
compostable packaging.
An intense communication campaign explains the new packaging
alternative to consumers and encourages them to dispose them
via the biobins. The market research institut factx (Cologne)
analysis during the test will measure changes in the consumer
attitudes, and purchasing and sorting behavior related to compostable
packaging.
All packaging is certified by DIN Certco for compostability and
licensed by Interseroh according to the packaging regulations.
It is labeled with the "hexagon" derived from the IBAW-Logo.
A communication campaign under the motto "The 6th Sense"
is informing consumers about the new packaging material and motivating
them to place used packaging in the organic waste bin. The topical
and visual key note of the campaign is the labeling (see figure).
The local urban refuse collection department ("Stadtreiniger
Kassel") and the local print and broadcasting media are
also involved in the campaign.

The issue is a favorite topic
of the media. The increased attention and high acceptance of
politicians is also a satisfying result.
